We mostly publish poetry & short fiction anthologies on various themes.
We do not accept unsolicited submissions. Keep an eye on our socials for calls for anthology submissions.
We only have one anthology under our belt, and we had to build everything from the ground up. Our debut anthology, Made from Midnight: a requiem, opened for submissions March 8th and has a publishing date of November 4th.
We will soon offer a variety of writing workshops and classes throughout the year. Please check our website or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed about upcoming events.

Yes. On November 4th, the anthology will be available in a 6 x 9 paperback, as well as digitally through Kindle Unlimited. We are working on how this affects your lines, and ensuring integrity to your original structure in both formats is of utmost importance to us. Formatting this has been a learning curve, but we are in the process and it is looking amazing.
Yes! Please! We want to bring as many writers as we can into our little corner of the universe. Poets in the Pines is building a community, and we would love to see you posting about this debut anthology, inviting other writers to the group, and being active on the community’s socials. We hope to offer more opportunities for us to come together, workshop, offer resources and more. Anything we have sent you or posted, you are welcome to repost. Or feel free to make your own posts and tag us! We try to repost and highlight our contributors and supporters whenever we can.
Great question. In your contract, you probably saw this term and if you are a newly published author, it may be confusing. The exclusivity period (90 days from the date of publication) doesn’t prohibit you from posting or talking about the anthology. It just means that because you have granted us the rights to this poem, you cannot also grant the rights to someone else during this time. However, it is non-exclusive, meaning the rights revert back to you after the 90 days and you are welcome to publish the poem yourself or grant the reprint rights to someone else with credit to us as the original publisher. This means you would most likely have an acknowledgments section that acknowledges Poets in the Pines as the original publisher wherever you publish the poem or work.
Everyone is so excited to get this book in their hands, physically, and we couldn’t be happier about that. The real answer is that every digital pre-order counts as a sale on release day, which will boost us in the charts of our category and help Amazon recognize the anthology as something to push out to readers. Additionally, a portion of proceeds go directly to The Dougy Center, which helps kids and teens in need during times of loss.
As an added bonus, if you share a picture of your pre-order on socials, we will send you an exclusive digital postcard from The Crow.
Engage in our socials, repost the anthology’s cover or sneaks, support our contributors, editors, and illustrators. Talk to your writing friends about the anthology you’re in, what it’s about, and how they could get engaged in their own writing communities. Hold a soft-book launch, or host an in-person book launch near you after you’ve received your author copies. Don’t be shy. We are so proud and excited about where this collective is going, and you should be too!
